Know Your Status
Know Your Status (KYS) is an innovative approach to HIV testing on college campuses, offering free, confidential, rapid HIV tests in centrally located areas, such as student centers and dormitories. KYS encourages students to be aware of their HIV status as a component of general personal healthcare. In an effort to destigmatize the act of getting tested, KYS incorporates an educational component into its program, for those seeking testing as well as the general student body (see More Than Just a Test). KYS was founded in August of 2005 at Duke University.
